How we use your car

Unlike most car donation programs for charities, Bonnie CLAC often makes long-term use of the car you donate. Exactly what we do with it depends largely on its age and condition. Here are some of the possibilities:

Provide your car directly to clients of Bonnie CLAC

If your car still has some life in it, it's likely to go to one of the clients in our Bridge Program. This program provides participants with transportation while they build a solid payment history to qualify for a new car.

Sell your car at auction or for parts

If your car is not usable for one of our programs, we may sell it either at auction or for parts.

Your tax deduction may be higher through Bonnie CLAC

If your car is usable, it is likely that you can receive a higher tax deduction by donating it to us than to other charities.

Here's why: after transportation and auction fees, many charities receive very little for the cars donated to them. Because we're able to make direct use of many donated cars, you may be able to deduct the full fair market value of the car you donate.
